Ethical Statement

Publishing peer-reviewed scholarly articles is one of the most important means of disseminating academic research. Ensuring the credibility and reliability of scientific communication requires the precise definition, acceptance, and consistent enforcement of ethical standards related to publication. These standards serve to prevent misconduct that undermines academic integrity and to maintain public trust in the scholarly community.

The editorial board and publisher of Tér – Gazdaság – Ember / Journal of Region, Economy and Society adhere to internationally recognized ethical principles and have adopted a statement on the prevention and handling of publication misconduct.

Common Ethical Issues in Publication Include:

  • Plagiarism: The unauthorized use and representation of another author's ideas, texts, or research results as one’s own, whether verbatim or paraphrased, without appropriate citation.

  • Copyright Infringement: The use of materials (e.g., figures, tables, photographs, illustrations) for which the author(s) do not possess publication rights, or the failure to cite the source or obtain the necessary permissions.

  • Data Fabrication and Falsification: The intentional alteration, suppression, or manipulation of research data, or the inappropriate processing of data, to distort results or draw unfounded conclusions.

  • Duplicate Submission and Redundant Publication: The submission or publication of the same research findings in multiple journals without permission or proper citation of the original publication.

  • False Authorship: The inclusion of individuals as authors who have not contributed significantly to the research, or excluding those who have.

The editorial board enforces these ethical principles for all submitted manuscripts.
